Lumbar Spine injuries with Discectomies and Fusion - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit consists of a single board depicting the pre-operative condition, surgical steps, and post-operative condition of a lumbar spine herniation and the anterior fixation hardware.\r\nThe pre-operative condition is depicted using a film interpretation to show the disc herniation at L4-L5 and disc collapse at L5-S1. The next four images are surgical showing the anterior paramedian incision to access the spine, the discectomies performed at L4-5 and L5-S1, the insertion of integrated plates and spacers, and the locking in of the plates by inserted screws. The final image is illustrated by another film interpretation showing the anterior fusion hardware and inserted discs in place.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"I wanted to thank you for the terrific job you did illustrating my client's injuries. The case was settled at the pre-suit mediation, and I believe a good part of the success we had was due to the medical legal art you prepared.

Your work received the ultimate compliment at the conclusion of the mediation. The hospital risk manager took the exhibit with them at the conclusion of mediation, and will be using it to train nurses on how to prevent bed sores..."

"Medical Legal Art wins our firm's highest accolades for professionalism and exhibit quality. In fact, many of the doctors I work with request color copies of your outstanding artwork to show to patients during the informed consent process."

Jeanne Dolan, BSRN, AlNC
Legal Nurse Consultant
Golden Valley, MN

"This past year, your company prepared three medical illustrations for our cases; two in which we received six figure awards; one in which we received a substantial seven figure award. I believe in large part, the amounts obtained were due to the vivid illustrations of my clients' injuries and the impact on the finder of fact."

Donald W. Marcari

"For modern audiences, it is absolutely essential to use medical demonstrative evidence to convey the severity and extent of physical injuries to a jury. Your company's high quality illustrations of our client's discectomy surgery, combined with strong expert testimony, allowed the jury to fully appreciate the significance of our client's injuries.

We are very pleased with a verdict exceeding $297,000.00, far in excess of the $20,000.00 initially offered by the defendant. The medical demonstrative evidence provided by Medical Legal Art was an asset we could not have afforded to have been without."
