Heart Failure Treatment: Procedures - Medical Animation
MEDICAL ANIMATION TRANSCRIPT:
This video will help you understand the main surgical procedures done to treat heart failure. Please watch the entire video to learn about the surgeries for heart failure. Surgeries for advanced heart failure include coronary artery bypass surgery to improve blood flow to your heart muscle and heart valve reconstruction surgery to improve blood flow through your heart. If the heart remains weak with standard heart failure treatments, advanced treatment options for severe heart failure include insertion of a pump for your heart. A ventricular assist device or VAD is a mechanical pump that's used to support heart function and blood flow in people who have weakened hearts. The device takes blood from a lower chamber of the heart and helps pump it to the body in vital organs just as a healthy heart would. Another advanced treatment for severe heart failure is a heart transplant. If you have advanced heart failure, your surgeon will determine the best type of treatment for you.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"This past year, your company prepared three medical illustrations for our cases; two in which we received six figure awards; one in which we received a substantial seven figure award. I believe in large part, the amounts obtained were due to the vivid illustrations of my clients' injuries and the impact on the finder of fact."

"Your firm is great to work with and, most importantly for me, you get the job done on time and with the utmost professionalism. You should be proud of all those you employ, from KJ to Ben B. I've been especially pleased over the years with the work of Brian and Alice, both of whom seem to tolerate my idiosycratic compulsion to edit, but I've not found a bad apple in the bunch (and, as you know, I've used your firm a bunch!). I look forward to our continued professional relationship."

"I wanted to take some time out to let you know what a wonderful job you did with the 'collapsed lung/fractured rib' illustrations. They were both detailed and accurate. My medical expert was comfortable working with them and he spent at least an hour explaining to the jury the anatomy of the lungs, the ribs and the injuries depicted in the illustrations. Needless to say, the jury was riveted to the doctor during his testimony.

The jury returned a verdict for $800,000.00 and I'm sure we would not have done so well if not for the visualizations we were able to put forth with your assistance. Lastly, my special thanks to Alice [Senior Medical Illustrator] who stayed late on Friday night and patiently dealt with my last minute revisions."
