Cervical Spine Injury with Surgical Diskectomy and Fusion - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This medical exhibit consist of six illustrations on a single exhibit. The first illustration portrays the pre-operative condition in a sagittal (side cutaway) view. The cervical disk herniations at C4-5 and C5-6 will be apparent. Also, the cervical nerve roots at these two levels will be shown with red inflammation to emphasize the radiculopathy. This illustration will be based directly from the MRI provided. The second illustration depict the initial incision being cut in the neck. The third illustration shows the burring down of the unusually large osteophytes. The fourth illustration portrays the diskectomies at C4-5 and C5-6. The fifth illustration depicts the insertion of the wedge implants into the disk spaces. The sixth illustration portrays the attachment of the plate to the anterior vertebral bodies.
