Skull Fracture with Underlying Brain Injury and Initial Surgical Repair - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit depicts a depressed left frontal fracture of the skull and orbital roof with brain laceration. Initial repair include: lifting the bone fragments, debridement of the brain tissue, suturing dural lacerations, use of Gelfoam sponge on top of the orbital roof, use of pericranium to reconstruct the posterior wall of the frontal sinus handsome used over the orbital roof, then DuraGen is placed over this. Some of the bone fragments are placed back and fixated with micro plates and screws. Still there is bone missing and to cover the defect, a titanium meshed plate is affixed with screws to the skull to make a smooth surface.

"We got a defense verdict yesterday! Your exhibit was extremely helpful in showing the jury how unlikely it is to damage all four of the nerve branches which control the sense of taste."

"This past year, your company prepared three medical illustrations for our cases; two in which we received six figure awards; one in which we received a substantial seven figure award. I believe in large part, the amounts obtained were due to the vivid illustrations of my clients' injuries and the impact on the finder of fact."
