T11 Fracture/Dislocation with Resulting Paraplegia - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit begins with one illustration providing a direct interpretation of one of the film revealing the T11 fracture site. This image gives a detailed view of the burst fracture of the T11 vertebral body with retropulsion of the fracture fragments back into the spinal canal causing a complete transection of the spinal cord.rnrnAlso, one full body silhouette view of a male figure shows the brain, spinal cord and major nerves coursing down into the legs. This image reveals the paraplegia in this case with a bright flash of red shown over the spinal cord at T11 symbolizing the level of the cord injury. All regions of the body beneath this injury is shaded in a blue color including the pelvis and both legs to symbolize the paralysis caused by this traumatic injury.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"I thought you might want to know that after we sent a copy of your illustration to the defendants, with a copy to the insurance company, they increased their offer by an additional million dollars and the case was settled for $1,900,000.00.

I appreciate your help!"

"[Your staff] was extremely efficient, cooperative and gracious and [their] efforts produced a demonstrative exhibit that we used effectively throughout our trial. The jury verdict of $3,165,000.00 was, in no small measure, due to the impact of the demonstrative evidence. You may be sure that we will call again."

"Thank you for the splendid medical-legal art work you did for us in the case of a young girl who was blinded by a bb pellet. As a result of your graphic illustrations of this tragic injury, we were able to persuade the insurance company to increase their initial offer of $75,000.00 to $475,000.00, just short of their policy limits.

We simply wanted you to know how pleased we were with your work which, to repeat, was of superlative character, and to let you know that we would be more than willing to serve as a reference in case you ever need one. Many thanks for an extraordinary and dramatic depiction of a very serious injury which clearly "catapulted" the insurance company's offer to a "full and fair" amount to settle this case."

"We are extremely pleased with the quality of the medical exhibits and the timely manner in which they were provided. I will certainly recommend your company to my business associates who could benefit from your services. Please tell Brian Wilson [Director of Content Development, Senior Medical Illustrator] that he did an exceptional job on these exhibits."
