L5-S1 Lumbar Disc Herniation with Surgical Microdiscectomy - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit begins with one sagittal (side cut-away) view of the lumbar spine illustrating the pre-operative condition. This image reveals the disc herniation at L5-S1 toward the left with caudal migration as described in the operative report. rnrnAlso, two to three steps of the L5-S1 microdiscectomy procedure are illustrated in graphic detail based on the operative dictation from the procedure. Each illustration provides the viewer with the surgeon's perspective of the operation at key steps during the procedure. Actual incision sites, instrumentation and operative techniques will be recreated with attention to precise details from the particular procedure and surgeon.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"[Your staff] was extremely efficient, cooperative and gracious and [their] efforts produced a demonstrative exhibit that we used effectively throughout our trial. The jury verdict of $3,165,000.00 was, in no small measure, due to the impact of the demonstrative evidence. You may be sure that we will call again."

"Thank you for the wonderful illustrations. The case resulted in a defense verdict last Friday. I know [our medical expert witness] presented some challenges for you and I appreciate how you were able to work with him."

Robert F. Donnelly
Goodman Allen & Filetti, PLLC
Richmond, VA

"Medical illustrations are essential during trial for any medical malpractice case. The people at MLA have the uncanny ability of creating medical illustrations that simplify the most complex of medical concepts and human anatomy to a lay audience. The exhibits of MLA allow experts to easily describe complex concepts and human anatomy in a manner that could not be done otherwise.

In addition, their custom illustrations show in great detail the extent of injuries suffered and the devastating effects they have had on the client's anatomy. These custom illustration can show, side by side, the body before and after a catastrophic injury. The effect of this juxtaposition is unmatched by any testimony that can be adduced at the time of trial.

Even jurors after trial have commented on the ease with which they grasp medical concepts and anatomy once the MLA exhibits were introduced and used by my experts. Even judges who have "seen it all" are thoroughly impressed by the detail and sophistication of the illustrations.

I would not want to try a case without them."

"I would like to thank all of you at Medical Legal Art for all the assistance you provided. It was a result of the excellent, timely work that we were able to conclude the case successfully.

I feel very confident that our paths will cross again."
