Animacja medyczna 3D przedstawiająca zakrzepicę żył głębokich (DVT), rozpoczyna się od przedstawienia formowania się skrzepu krwi w żyle podudzia. W czasie przepływu czerwonych komórek krwi przez żyłę, wolniej poruszające się komórki i inne składniki krwi gromadzą się w zastawkach żylnych, tworząc miejscowy skrzep krwi, blokujący przepływ krwi w żyle. Kiedy skrzep oderwie się od płatka zastawki, przesuwa się w kierunku serca i płuc i nazywany jest wtedy zatorem. Ostatnia część animacji pokazuje zator umieszczający się w tkance płuc, gdzie tworzy potencjalnie zagrażający życiu zator tętnicy płucnej.
