Placentation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This medical exhibit features one anterior cut-away view of the uterus revealing twin fetuses at 20 weeks gestation with a shared placenta but separate amnionic sacs. The first fetus is normal with a central implantation of the umbilical cord into the placenta. The second fetus has a marginal insertion of the cord into the placenta with a resulting 20% reduction in size.
