Mammography - Medical Animation
MEDICAL ANIMATION TRANSCRIPT: A mammogram procedure use as low dose x-rays to view and detect changes in breast tissue. A woman's breasts are composed of glandular tissue, and ducts, fat, connective tissue, and blood vessels. A mammogram is a routine x-ray screening test for women over the age of 40, or for those with breast related symptoms, such as a lump or nipple discharge. Before your mammogram, make sure that your breasts and underarms are clean, and do not wear deodorant, since it may appear on mammogram x-rays as calcium spots. A screening mammogram is performed yearly, as a routine study for women over 40, when there are no symptoms related to the breast. A technician will begin by placing one of your breath between two specialized plates. The plates will compress to flatten your breast, so that the camera can get clear pictures of your breast tissue. You may feel some discomfort during the compression, but it will only last a few seconds. Then you will change position for a second picture, which will be taken from the side. This procedure will then be repeated on your other breast. You will get the results from your screening mammogram later, usually within a couple of weeks. A diagnostic mammogram is performed if a screening mammogram shows an abnormality, or if there are symptoms, such as a breast lump or nipple discharge. During a diagnostic mammogram, x-ray images are taken from different views, and an ultrasound may be performed. You will get the results from your diagnostic mammogram during your visit to determine the next steps.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"Medical illustrations are essential evidence in personal injury litigation and MLA is simply the best I've found at producing high-quality illustrations. Your illustrators are not only first-class artists, but creative and responsive. Your turn around time is as good as it gets. My clients have won over $60 million in jury verdicts and I can't recall a case which did not include one of your exhibits. On behalf of those clients, thanks and keep up the great work!"

"I have found that the personalized medical illustrations prepared by Medical Legal Art have been very accurate and helpful. The medical doctors, both treating physicians and expert witnesses, have commented on the accuracy and professionalism of the medical illustrations. Most importantly, your prompt service and attention upon even short notice has been tremendous. I can certainly say that the medical illustrations prepared by Medical Legal Art have assisted us in bringing cases to a successful resolution."

"Your firm is great to work with and, most importantly for me, you get the job done on time and with the utmost professionalism. You should be proud of all those you employ, from KJ to Ben B. I've been especially pleased over the years with the work of Brian and Alice, both of whom seem to tolerate my idiosycratic compulsion to edit, but I've not found a bad apple in the bunch (and, as you know, I've used your firm a bunch!). I look forward to our continued professional relationship."

"It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Medical Legal Art. We have used their services for three years and always found their professionalism, quality of work, and timely attention to detail to exceed our expectations. We recently settled two complicated catastrophic injury cases. One medical malpractice case involving a spinal abscess settled for 3.75 million and the other involving injuries related to a motor vehicle accident settled for 6.9 million. We consider the artwork provided by MLA to have been invaluable in helping us to successfully conclude these cases.

I highly recommend MLA to anyone seeking high quality, detailed medical legal artwork."
