This stock medical exhibit depicts the surgical fixation of a left tibial plateau fracture. The first image shows the pre-operative condition, with comminuted, displaced fractures of the tibial plateau. The middle images describe multiple steps of the fixation procedure, including the incision, reapproximation of the tibia and insertion of bone graft material, and the application of a fixation plate and screws. The final image shows the post-operative condition, with bone graft and fixation plate in place.
