Traumatic Bowel Injury with Surgical Resection - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This stock medical exhibit depicts a traumatic bowel injury with subsequent surgical resection. The first image shows the post accident condition, with a large mesenteric rent and a segment of necrotic small bowel in the terminal ileum. The remaining four images describe multiple steps of the surgery, including the midline abdominal incision, division and removal of the necrotic portion of small bowel, and anastomosis of the remaining, healthy ends of small bowel.
