This stock medical exhibit describes a sacral fracture and following surgical repair. The first image is an interpretation of a lateral x-ray of the sacrum showing the pre-operative condition, with a transverse, displaced fracture through the second sacral segment. The second image is an interpretation of a post-operative X-ray showing the sacrum after laminectomies have been performed at S1, S2, and S3 and plates have been placed to fix the sacrum in anatomical position. Exhibit Title: Donya Knight - Sacral Laminectomies Multiple steps of the 3/29/06 S1-S3 laminectomies will be illustrated in graphic detail based on the operative report from the procedure, including the incision, laminectomies at S1, S2, and S3, and the placement of pedicle screws and plates. Each illustration will provide the viewer with the surgeon's perspective of the operation at key steps during the procedure. Actual incision sites, instrumentation and operative techniques will be recreated with attention to precise details from the particular procedure and surgeon. The exhibit will be both educational in its clarification of the operative details, as well as dramatic in its presentation of the appearance of the operative field.
