Abdominal Injuries and Hemorrhage – Medical Illustration This stock medical exhibit features an anterior view of a female abdomen and pelvis to highlight the post-operative condition following a D and E procedure. The illustration highlights the perforations to the posterior uterine wall as well as to the lateral uterine wall. It should also be noted that this patient's intestinal anatomy is abnormal due to the fact that her cecum deviates towards the midline of her abdomen. This led to the injury of the cecum when the instrument broke through the posterior wall.
