This stock medical exhibit depicts a left tibial plateau fracture with surgical fixation. The pre-operative condition, in the upper left corner, shows a comminuted tibial plateau fracture. The second image shows an incision being made at the knee joint. The third image shows a surgeon's hand holding the knee, thus reducing the fracture while the other hand uses an instrument to secure the fracture site with a screw. The final image shows the post-operative condition with all hardware in place and the actual x-ray film print beside the color interpretation.
