Abdominal and Thoracic Repairs - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This medical illustration depicts post-accident surgical interventions following traumatic injuries. The central image shows a laparotomy incision used to access the abdominal cavity. A tear in the left diaphragm, a Grade V laceration of the spleen, and a ruptured uterus containing a deceased third-term fetus are visible. A tube is placed in the left chest, likely for pleural drainage. The illustration includes three surgical procedures: (A) repair of the diaphragm tear using sutures, (B) removal of the severely lacerated spleen, and (C) placement of a jejunostomy tube through the abdominal wall, connecting to the jejunum for enteral feeding.
