Surgical Fixation of Left Lower Leg and Right Foot - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This medical exhibit uses four illustrations to demonstrate the surgical fixation of the lower left leg and right foot. The first three images show the repair of the leg with the reaming of the tibial shaft and placement of an intermedullary tibial nail. The rod is secured with distal and proximal locking screws. The final image at right shows calcaneal pin placement to reduced the multiple heel fractures.
