This stock medical exhibit compares endoscopy when performed improperly without an endotracheal tube and performed with an endotracheal tube. There are three illustrations on the exhibit. All illustrations are anterior cutaway views of the stomach, lungs, esophagus and trachea. The first illustration shows the endoscopy being performed without an endotracheal tube. The second illustration depicts the same procedure but with an endotracheal tube in place. The third illustration clarifies that if the stomach contents regurgitate during an endoscopy, the endotracheal tube will stop the contents from entering the lungs.
