This stock medical exhibit describes left lower leg fractures with surgical fixation. The first image shows the post-accident condition, with transverse fractures of the tibia and fibula and an open laceration proximal to the fracture site. There is also an x-ray showing the broken bones. The next three images describe multiple steps of the surgical repair procedure, including irrigation of the laceration, reduction of the fracture and placement of the intermedullary rod, and fixation of the rod with a proximal locking screw. The final image is a skeletal view of the left lower leg post-surgery, with the fracture reduced and the rod in place.
