This stock medical exhibit shows the procedure for performing anterior and posterior spinal fusion at the L 3-4 and L 4-5 levels. The first image depicts the initial orientation and incision. Next, the removal of the intervertebral discs is illustrated. The third image shows the insertion of the bone graft. Repositioning of the patient is shown in the fourth image. The final two images depict the preparation of the posterior aspect of the spine and the utilizaiton of rods to aid spinal fusion.
