Pre-operative Condition: Degenerative Lumbar Disc Disease with an L4/5 Disc Herniation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This medical exhibit features two MRI interpretations from the radiology study. The first image depicts a sagittal view of the lumbar spine. It clearly shows the degenerative disc disease affecting the lumbar spine and the disc bulges at L3/4, L4/5 and L5/S1. This lateral view includes the spinal nerve roots and shows the nerve impingement at L4/L5. The actual MRI film is also mounted next to the illustration. The second image depicts an axial view of the lumbar spine. It clearly shows the disc bulges are encroaching on the spinal nerve root. The actual MRI film is also mounted next to the illustration.
