This stock medical exhibit begins with a lateral view of the left leg. An inset shows a sagittal cross-section view of the left knee, the area of injury in this case. A retained surgical staple is shown imbedded in scar tissue, and the total knee replacement hardware is surrounded by a fistula/cellulitis/swelling. It is clear that the fistula is not touching the surgical staple.
