Cervical Disc Injury with Surgical Discectomy and Fusion - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This stock medical exhibit depicts a the repair of a herniated C6-C7 disc. The first image is an MRI showing the pre-surgical condition. The second image is an interpretation of a portion of that MRI, showing the herniated C6-C7 disc compressing the spinal cord. The remaining images describe multiple steps of the surgical repair, including the incision on the anterior neck, removal of the herniated disc, placement of bone graft in the empty disc space, and fixation with an anterior cervical plate and four screws.
