Additional Right Arm Nerve and Tendon Repairs - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit depicts nerve and tendon repairs. The first image shows a large incision down the mid portion of the forearm exposing severe scarring and fibrosis from a previous injury to the forearm. The second image shows bilateral sural nerve grafts harvested through incisions in the posterolateral aspect of the lower extremities. The third image shows the proximal anastomosis of the sural nerve graft to the median nerve after a nonfunctional portion of the median nerve is removed. The forth image shows the gracilis muscle harvested from the right anteromedial region of the thigh. The final image shows the harvested gracilis muscle attached proximally to the medial epicondyle using Mitek suture anchors and an arrow indicating the distal end of the muscle will be attached in the carpal tunnel.
