This stock medical exhibit compares the proper use of bone wax to seal all open mastoid air cells at and around the edges of a craniotomy versus the outcome when no bone wax is used. When no bone wax is used cerebrospinal fluid flows into the mastoid air cells through the dura, surrounding the brain, which is opened during a craniotomy.
