Surgical Fixation of the Right Lower Leg - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit features multiple surgical steps in the surgical fixation of the right lower leg. Specifically shown in this case are two fixation procedures through multiple surgical steps detailing the following: The Initial Fixation Procedure A- Reduction is performed on the tibia and the external fixator is tightened down in place. B- Reduction is performed on the fibula and a 7-hole semi-tubular plate is placed on the fibula using screws to complete the fixation. Final Fixation Procedure A- An additional external fixator is placed in the anterior tibia and the medial fixator is removed. B- A 10-hole tibia plate is inserted subcutaneously through a distal incision. Once in place a proximal incision is created and a proximal and distal screw is inserted providing initial stabilization of the fracture. C- A third incision is created between the first two incisions and screws are used to secure the plate. Upon completion of the procedure the external fixator is removed.

"I just wanted to let you know that after several days on trial, I settled [my client's] construction accident case for $4.5 million. Immediately after the jury was discharged, I spoke with several jurors who told me that they really appreciated the medical illustrations for their clarity in dealing with [my client's] devastating injuries. They also expressed their gratitude in being able to read from a distance all of the notations without difficulty. Obviously, the boards were visually persuasive.
